A good value if you just need something that will work without thinking. It's as plug and play as you can get. This bad boy is a bit heavy, as it should be to support the claims. Honestly, I've never heard a diesel crank like a car. It had more juice available to it than it ever has, it's a wonder manufacturer doesn't utilize a small capacitor bank to let the start motor have an easy life. After starting the truck and charging two phones about 60% each the battery level still showed 3 out of 4 bars. The carrying case is purpose built for this unit, and it's actually really nice. Overall it has a confidence inspiring build quality. It's priced good I think, considering the power of it. It's more than most people need by double really. But if you're dealing with diesels frequently it's a rather inexpensive option. On my subjective testing it seems to put it more juice than my noco which was over double the price for 25% less amps (3000 vs 4000) but nearly double the price is my 2000 amp unit which is powerful enough for diesels as well but the difference is significant in capacity & capability between 2k & 4k but had to really know for sure between 3k & 4k. In the photo's you will see it has pretty hefty terminal clamps, USB charging ports, a flashlight and fits in a tough, semi-hard canvas case. It's not overly heavy, but has some weight to it. It actually just fits in a glove box, so it's always there if you need it. It comes with the charging cord, as well as a power plug for mobile charging. The instructions are almost not necessary, as it is straight forward to use. Plug the cables into the port, connect them to the battery, and turn the power on. Apparently, plugging into the port automatically sets it to jump-start the battery. Appreciate the way it all fits so well into its case without having to fiddle around with it to get it in. I ordered the Veratek 4000A Jump Starter because it offers significantly more jumping power than most jump packs. The first things I noticed upon removing the device from its well-built case are the large battery clamps and the large gauge wires. It also includes a multi-function light at one end and can be used as a 24,000mAh power bank with two USB-A QC3.0 output connections. A USB-C charging connection is provided, along with a charging cable. A nice bonus is the USB A & C car charger (cigarette light style). With only a single button, operation is simple. Press it once to start the jump starter. After that, hold it down for a few seconds to turn on the flashlight with a steady beam. Additional presses cycle through SOS and strobe modes. One more press turns the flashlight off. The jumper cable assembly has indicators for ready, low charge, high temperature, and reversed connection. The back of the jump pack has jump starting instructions and provides definitions of the indicator lights on the front side - nice feature. The main indicator on the jumper cable assembly turns from blue to green once the clamps are attached to the vehicle's battery and it's ready to attempt to start the vehicle. If no action is detected for about 45 seconds, the jump pack shuts off. As previously mentioned, the battery clamps are large and, therefore, open wide and have a firm grip. The cable connector that goes into the side of the jump pack includes a protective cover. There's a mode to charge a completely dead battery - the little red recessed button on the side. Read the instruction manual to understand when and how to use it. The case holds the jump pack, jumper cables, and accessories with a little room to spare for a couple of longer USB cables or a small penlight. There's a divider flap to prevent damage to the jump pack from the cable clamps. Width and thickness are about the same as many jump packs (approximately 3-inches wide and 2-inches thick), but at 10-inches long, it's longer than most jump starters, but more capability requires more battery cells. Overall, if you are looking for a very capable jump starter, this is a high-quality unit with a 1-year warranty. Keep it charged, and it's likely to last many years.
